F-ing Microsoft

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827825
The Knowledge Base article describes exactly what I have on four different servers I support. Of course they are servers that are our money making web servers that mean we do not make money the entire time they are down, so reboot time needs to be minimized. Microsoft, in their wisdom, has decided to release a hot-fix for the problem above. Except you have to call their support line, which costs you money, to get it. Now they might not charge you for the call if a hot-fix is out there to fix the problem. Here is my question. I understand that maybe they do not want to release the Hotfix via windows update for machines that do not need it, but why not put it out there for administrators to download it manually and install it ourselves? Saves me having to call Microsoft, saves Microsoft having to talk to me, and we are all happier. Instead I am dreading have to wait on hold to convince a support goon from telling me where to download the Hotfix.*Sigh* I am going to hate today. Here is to Beer O'Clock.
